The XIV Mitja Marató de Formentera takes another step towards the visibility of women and gender equality in alliance with the Sports and Equality Area of the Consell de Formentera and the ONGD Wanawake Mujer. The Wanawake director, activist and popular runner, Mónica Batán, will run the Half Marathon, wearing MAUA flowers on her bib and with bracelets made by women survivors of the most radical practices of gender violence
The runners will also be able to join the gesture and wear flowers on their numbers and wrists, under the slogan "Run with Maua towards Equality", forming part of the solution through this symbol. Runners and runners will be able to get them the same day of the race, at the awareness stand that the ONGD Wanawake will have installed.
The funds raised will be used to provide job opportunities to women survivors of female genital mutilation, child marriage and trafficking for the purpose of exploitation, mainly sexual, residing in Kenya, Tanzania and Spain.
