The organisation of the XVI Formentera Half Marathon and the 8KM Sant Ferran-La Savina, which will be held on May 17, 2025, closed the deadline for pre-registration yesterday, with a record number of 7,965 athletes, which far exceeds the 2,000 places authorised for the Half Marathon and the 1,000 for the 8KM.
Due to this circumstance, the organisation of the event will carry out a draw for places before a notary tomorrow, Friday 29th, at 12:30 p.m., to determine the pre-registrations who will be able to process their definitive registration for the events, once those formalised by those who have completed the event in 5 or more editions have been discounted. The winners will be able to confirm their registration between December 3rd and 23rd through the official website of the event http://www.marato-formentera.com/.

Second chance for places
In the event that the winners of the draw do not confirm their registration within the established period, a single second chance for places will be opened from December 30 until the places are filled.
As has become usual in the last editions of the event, which has the institutional sponsorship of the Consell de Formentera and the Government of the Balearic Islands, the great demand for participation and the territorial limitations of the island, force the organization to establish this registration system to cover the 3,000 participants allowed between both events.
