Ana Juan highlighted in the presentation that one more year, "Formentera is ready to receive the largest event on the island's sports calendar and that it also has relevance far beyond the competition but also because it is the best excuse to visit our island to enjoy the natural environment, the atmosphere and the gastronomy of Formentera”.

Spring in Formentera

Meanwhile, Alejandra Ferrer has recalled "that the test is an ideal opportunity for the participants and their companions to come to Formentera in the month of May, a time when we have many cultural, musical, sports activities and that is perfect for doing green routes and ornithological and enjoy its nature and gastronomy, since at this time you can enjoy a calmer Formentera than during the high season".

For her part, Paula Ferrer has influenced "the organizational capacity of Formentera, the collaborating companies, the security and health forces to carry out this event" and has thanked the work of "the volunteers who are key to the development of the test".

Lastly, Manuel Hernández, highlighted that "the race has once again covered the limit quota of participants -3,000 for the two tests-, another example of its relevance and consolidation in the national and international calendar". Regarding news compared to previous years, Hernández has indicated that the route through La Savina will be different in the last 500 meters, since the runners will have to turn onto Gregal street when they come from es Pujols instead of going out onto the road general. In addition, shower points will be installed along the route to refresh the runners.

Sustainable race

The race maintains its commitment to reduce single-use plastic, so the organization will distribute a flexible can with isotonic drink to all participants at the first refreshment point of the Half Marathon and at the start of the 8K, which participants will be able to fill in along the route. In addition, at the finish line, a rigid drum filled with water will be distributed to all runners as they cross the finish line along with the finisher's medal.

'Ecopilas' will also be present once again encouraging battery recycling and, this year, in collaboration with the Consell de Formentera and the Government of the Balearic Islands, an activity will be carried out in schools on the island to raise awareness among the youngest about the importance of recycling a highly polluting material.

And at the start of the Half Marathon, the animation and waiting tent will be located again, as happened last year, 500 meters from the actual start of the test, to respect the virot's habitat as much as possible.

The start of both tests will be at 6:00 p.m.; the Mitja Marató, as usual, from the lighthouse of La Mola; and the 8 km one, from Sant Ferran. The joint goal will be located in La Savina, as in previous editions.
