The Minister of Tourism of Formentera, Artal Mayans, and the Minister of Physical and Sports Activities, Hugo Martínez, today presented the XV Mitja Marató Illa de Formentera and the 8K Sant Ferran-La Savina, which will bring together 3,000 athletes this Saturday the 11th. For his part, the Minister of Tourism, Artal Mayans, has expressed the intention of the island institution to continue organizing this type of sports events on the island "that bring people, they bring good energy and the desire to enjoy the environment in which we find ourselves." we find". “We can only thank the organization of this event for already carrying out 15 editions of the Mitja Marató with which the island is filled during a weekend with runners, visitors and companions,” added Mayans. “In the end this is what the people of the island like, sharing it with people who come to do healthy tourism,” he concluded.

Manuel Hernández, director of the event, highlighted that "the event has once again covered the limit of participants -3,000 for both events-, another example of its relevance and consolidation in the national and international calendar." As for new features compared to previous years, Hernández has pointed out that the route through La Savina maintains the change introduced last year in the last 500 meters, so the runners will have to turn onto Gregal Street when they come from es Pujols in instead of going out onto the main road. In addition, shower points will be installed along the route to refresh the runners.

Meanwhile, Francesco Bellini, commercial manager of Trasmapi, thanked the organization for continuing to place its trust in the company to transport participants, companions and the entire organizational operation between Ibiza and Formentera. “We put our fleet and services at the disposal of the Mitja Marató, so that everyone can travel in the best possible conditions and we are very happy to continue collaborating with this important event.”

The start of both races will be at 6:00 p.m.; the Mitja Marató, as usual, from the Mola lighthouse; and the 8K, from Sant Ferran. The joint goal will be located in La Savina, as in previous editions.
