The island of Formentera once again became the epicenter of Mediterranean running this Saturday with the celebration of the 17th Formentera Half Marathon and the Sant Ferran-La Savina 8K, two races that brought together more than 3,500 runners for a day marked by sport, a great atmosphere, and spectacular conditions for running along the sea.

Both races started at 6:00 PM. The Half Marathon began at the iconic La Mola Lighthouse, while the Sant Ferran-La Savina 8K started in the town of Sant Ferran. Both races shared the finish line on the Passeig de la Marina in La Savina, where hundreds of people welcomed the runners in a spectacular final atmosphere.

In the men's half marathon, José Enrique Coscolla took the victory with a time of 1 hour and 11 minutes after a solid performance on the roads of Formentera. Joan Puig finished second, while Guille Preckler completed the men's podium in an edition marked by a high level of competition.

The women's category provided one of the most exciting moments of the day. Edymar Brea Abreu and Paula Herrero Aguirre crossed the finish line together to share the victory in a spectacular tie, both with a time of 1h17’28”. The women's podium was completed by Marta Ceperuelo Clemente, who also delivered a standout performance in a very demanding race.

Excellent level in the 8K

The Sant Ferran-La Savina 8K once again attracted a large number of participants, with a high level of competition among the top finishers. The star of the men's race was Adrián Guirado, who delivered an outstanding performance to take the victory with a spectacular time of 25 minutes and 25 seconds. The Ibizan athlete dominated the race with authority. Second place went to José Manuel Caplliure, who crossed the finish line with a time of 27’03”, while Sergi Moreno completed the men's podium after stopping the clock at 27’49”.

In the women's category, the most outstanding performance came from Celia Antón. The athlete The Burgos native put on a truly impressive display, finishing third overall in the race, surpassed only by the top two men on the podium—a fact that reflects the exceptional level of performance shown on the Formentera asphalt. Antón was crowned the women's winner of the 8K Sant Ferran-La Savina with a brilliant time of 27 minutes and 42 seconds, confirming her excellent form in one of the most special races on the popular running calendar. Second place went to Antía Castro, who completed the race in 28 minutes and 18 seconds, while Cristina Molteni rounded out the podium with a time of 28 minutes and 48 seconds.

The day concluded with the awards ceremony, held in La Savina and presided over by the island's main authorities along with representatives of the event's sponsors and partners.

The 17th Formentera Island Half Marathon and the 8K Sant Ferran-La Savina have once again demonstrated their ability to draw a crowd, solidifying their position as a leading event in popular athletics in the Mediterranean, combining sport, tourism, and scenery into a unique experience. A unique event for thousands of runners from across Spain and Europe. The race is co-financed by the Balearic Government through the Sustainable Tourism Tax fund.
