The Sant Ferran-La Savina 8K has completed a great sporting weekend in Formentera, parallel to the Mitja Marató. Some 1,000 participants have started this test, in which the fastest in the men's category has been José Manuel Caplliure, winner of the average two years ago. Caplliure (2'14”) beat Mario Cano (27'27”) and Albert Reig (27'41”), second and third respectively. The first three in just 30 seconds difference, in a demonstration of how competitive the race has been. There was less excitement in the fight for victory in the women's event, where Yéssica Pérez (Oysho Running Club) dominated with authority, winning at the finish line with a time of 30'31” over Verónica Castro (32'00”) and Gloria Tejado (32'24”).
Once again this year, the Mitja Marató de Formentera and the 8K Sant Ferran-La Savina have once again been a great organizational and participation success, making Formentera the island of sports throughout the weekend.
With the awards ceremony at Savina, which was attended by Hugo Martínez, insular councilor of Physical Activities and Sports, and Paco Ferrer, director of the AETIB, as well as representatives of the main sponsors, a new edition of the Mitja Marató de Formentera.
