The 16th Formentera Island Half Marathon and the Sant Ferran-La Savina 8K once again filled the island with excitement, sport, and an unbeatable atmosphere this afternoon. More than 3,500 runners took part in an edition marked by the high level of competition, the enthusiasm of the participants, and the spectacular natural surroundings of Formentera.
Over the 21-kilometer distance, Alejandro Sansabas (Serrano Club Atletismo) took the win, crossing the finish line in 1:12:51 after a very close race. Just 16 seconds behind was Mohamed Amine Taghzati (1:13:07), followed by Brian Cronin (1:13:20). The three led the race from kilometer 10, achieving a thrilling finish with just 29 seconds between them.

In the women's category, Frenchwoman Emeline Delanis (Oysho Club) put on a true exhibition, stopping the clock at 1:15:11, more than five minutes ahead of second-place finisher Marina Taberner (1:20:51). Sofía Freaza, with a time of 1h22'30" completed the podium. Delanis's performance was so outstanding that she finished in sixth place in the overall standings, rubbing shoulders with the best male athletes.

The day concluded with the trophy presentation on the Paseo de La Marina in La Savina, in an event attended by the president of the Formentera Council, Óscar Portas, along with other local authorities and representatives of the main sponsors.

The organizers have announced that in 2026 the Mitja Marató will feature an important new feature: two 21K races and two 8K races will be held on two consecutive weekends (May 9 and 16), which will double participation to 7,000 runners, thus ensuring that more people can experience the unique experience of running in Formentera.
